About Grove Park
We are OFSTED registered to provide care for 30 children aged between 3 months and 5 years and places are filling up fast. We have had lots of people passing and making enquiries and visiting the setting, which we are very proud to show off. The wonderful murals that were painted by local artist Paul Robbens (www.paulrobbens.co.uk) make it hard to miss!
We have a lot of space, internally and in the garden, for the children to explore and experience, with the rooms loosely separated into areas of learning.
The nursery is split over 5 rooms—two baby areas, toddler room (pictured), 3-4 year old room and 4-5 year old room, but we will start off with mixed ages as the rooms fill up.
Our dedicated sleep room contains little Shanticots that have a cot suitable for babies up to 9 months on the top, and a small bed suitable for toddlers underneath. They have mattresses that meet the British Standard and each child has a clean sheet on their bed every week that stays in their named drawer and gets laundered after their last session at nursery. (www.shanticot.co.uk)
The older children nap on nests that are little fold up beds containing a thinner mattress and pillow, which is covered with their sheet then they have a small blanket to comfort and keep them snug while they nap peacefully. The children settle to a lullaby CD, with a member of staff beside them. Once asleep, the children are checked for breathing / movement every 15-20 minutes, which is documented and we have a baby monitor in the room, with a mobile receiver that moves around with us, so we can listen into the room from anywhere within the building or garden.
The baby areas are warm and inviting with an open plan configuration between them and the toddler room, so that everyone is visible and there is a feeling of spaciousness and light throughout this large area.
We have a tent, book corner, sit on toys, baby nests, treasure baskets and many other age appropriate resources for the babies that are rotated according to a weekly plan to ensure that the youngest members of our nursery get a lot of stimulation, variety and opportunity for development.
Government funding is available for all children from the term after their third birthday, when the children move onto doing much more structured number and letter work, as well as being encouraged to become more independent and transition onto school more easily. The funding is deducted from the cost of the session here. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions page for more detailed information, or call us on 07948 073118.
We have a large garden that is accessed directly from one of the rooms, to facilitate a free-flow environment. It is fully secure and inaccessible to anyone from the exterior. Although very scantily equipped at present, we are hoping to secure some government funds for improvement and expansion over the next few months...watch this space!!
