As a registered Day Nursery, we are regulated by OFSTED, who are the governing body; and who issue us with a set of 14 standards that every registered day care provider must meet.  We are regularly inspected by OFSTED and graded according to how well we meet the standards and meet the individual needs of all of the children in our care.

PoliciesIn my last inspection report, whilst working as a childminder, I was graded “Outstanding”.  You may view this report by clicking on the link to OFSTED: www.ofsted.gov.uk and searching on my previous registration number of (URN) of EY239219.

Previous to this inspection I was graded as “Good” which was the highest grade one could be awarded at that time and continue to work to the same high standards of excellence as a day nursery. Little Red Hen Day Nursery registration number is now EY355804, although, as a brand new setting, no reports have been filed to date. Our first graded inspection will be due in Spring 2008.

PoliciesThe OFSTED website provides a lot of helpful information for parents in choosing a nursery and government directives for childcare.  You can use this as a forum for making comments about good examples or best practices for childcare settings or even complaints.
